Five lakes, five views of Fuji.
Yamanashi Prefecture. The collective name for Lake Yamanaka, Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Sai, Lake Shoji and Lake Motosu, lined up along the northern foot of Mount Fuji. Each lake offers a view of Mount Fuji from a different angle, and they are included among the component parts of the World Cultural Heritage site "Fujisan".

The Story of
Fuji Five Lakes
Lava flows from eruptions of Mount Fuji dammed the rivers, giving birth to five lakes at its northern foot. Mount Fuji looks entirely different from each lake.
At Lake Yamanaka it rises beyond a wide expanse of water; at Lake Kawaguchi, through autumn leaves on the shore. On windless mornings, an inverted Fuji appears on the water.
