Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. A sheer cliff coast formed when lava from the eruption of Mount Omuro reached the sea. One of the highlights of the Izu Peninsula Geopark, where a suspension bridge and walking trails look out over rugged rocks and sea.

The Story of
Izu — Jogasaki Coast
Pacific waves break white against black rock cliffs. The Jogasaki Coast is a coastline formed as the sea carved rock made of cooled and hardened lava.
The walking trail weaves through pine woods and along the cliff edge, and here and there the view opens up to reveal a deep ultramarine sea.
